Meal Tracker Menu Planning is USDA Approved
Now and Beyond, With Even More to Come!

A recent memo from the USDA indicated that the Meal Tracker Menu Planning software from eTritionWare / Accu-Scan has not met the requirements for use in schools in the 2007-2008 school year.

While the memo was technically accurate, it could not convey the entire picture of our efforts in providing an approved menu planning software.

The Meal Tracker Menu Planning software, with the CN9 database, is approved for use in the 2006-2007 school year – it expires in July 2007.

Some of our customers and prospects may have believed that we will be leaving them out in the cold for this product. The reality is just the opposite!

Here’s the exciting news: We have completed work on the newest CN10 database! By the end of August 2006, the current Meal Tracker Menu Planning product will be submitted to the USDA for approval with the current CN10 database. Pending approval, our product will be acceptable for use in schools through July 2008.

That's not all. A new menu planning software is on the horizon. It will be a part of our new exciting software suite known as eTrition.

The new eTrition Menu Planning software will have the latest USDA database and will meet all USDA requirements – but that’s just the beginning. eTrition Menu Planning will set the standard for menu planning/nutritional analysis software packages. It will be a true web-based application, meaning users do not have to install or maintain any software on their local computers. They will simply open their browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.) to use the system. Web-based software applications offer many benefits to schools:

1) They can run on any platform that supports a browser (Windows, Unix, Mac, etc.)

2) Lower IT costs because there are fewer computers to maintain

3) Flexibility to work from any internet computer

4) Installation and updates done in just one place

5) Very low requirements for workstation computers (allowing schools to extend the useful life computers they may have considered obsolete)

6) Easier integration with other web-based software applications

7) Easy, familiar web-page interface for users

To introduce the exciting new software suite, eTrition, Accu-Scan has become eTritionWare. Ownership and management remain the same – as does our commitment to serving over 4,000 Meal Tracker software users. The eTrition suite will include:

Point of Service

Central Office POS Manager

Free & Reduced Applications

Inventory

Purchasing

Bidding

Menu Planning

Nutritional Analysis

Production

Recipe Costing

Online Payments via EZSchoolPay.com

Online Free & Reduced Applications

The eTrition software suite is designed for the benefit of child nutrition professionals, IT departments, and school administrators. We believe that when these three areas work together, the result is a positive nutrition experience for children and their parents.
